We also started working on word families and onset and rimes. The students really enjoyed these activities and they LOVED the word sliders! The loved the real and silly words that they had to distinguish between.
I borrowed this sight word activity from my friend Katie over at Dishing it out . She literally has every game and book that exists! I love it! Anyway she loaned me this one today and my kids really loved it. I had it in my spelling center because I concentrate on sight words there every week. I loved that they were able to match the word and then write it. It is very good for my ESL students.
Matching the onset and rimes was really good for some of my higher students. They had to match them to make the correct words and there are 18. You can make this easier by providing a word bank.
Check out onset and rimes here.
