We started off this pack by reading Oh the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss! This is my favortie book! We took a quote from the book and discussed how it relates to real life and the kids wrote their thoughts on it. These turned out really good! I explained to them how part of this book was read at my college graduation and how it is not only a kid book but an adult book! I should them pictures of my degree and the college that I attended- The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. GO VOLS!!!!
Next ,we completed our KWL Chart. We discussed things we did know, things we wanted to know and things we learned. These questions were HILARIOUS!
Some questions were:
Do they have centers in college?
Is there a field fay in college?
Do they have silent lunch in college?
How old do you have to be to go to college?
I answered every single question and the kids were so engaged! It was awesome!
Some of the students had no idea what a college was! Not anymore!!!
Then we worked on our college entrance letters, I was very impressed with these!
They really did a great job!
Terri Rogers Stauffer and
Christine Yazzie are the winners!! Congrats!
