FREE First Day of School Craftivity

I wanted to give you guys a little freebie before school starts! The time is almost near and it is time for me to start thinking about those first day of school activities. I put together this little craft and I hope that you can use it in your class also.

Have the students to either write words that described their first day or write sentences. Then you can add a little magnet to the back so the parents can add it to the fridge for a nice little keepsake!
You can print this out on construction paper and have the kids cut it out, have the students color it, or use it as a template. I used ribbons as my leaves but there is a leaf pattern included. I included handwriting and ruled lines. If you can use it, I just ask that you share with other teachers on Facebook or Pinterest. Or just share with your grade level!
Don’t forget to stop by and check out my Common Core Reading Comprehension Packs for K, 1st, and 2nd grade! Are you up to your ears in Common Core yet? I hope so!

How do you get home?

I am slowly finishing up the task of getting my classroom together. It is taking a long time and there is no air during the summer so I have sweat a lot of pounds away! I still have tons of things to do but I am loving my new room makeover. I will post pictures soon! Here is a little something that I made that is soooooo darn cute! Just print, laminate and attach to a colorful ribbon that matches the color of your classroom.UPDATED: I INCLUDED DAYCARE AND YMCA :)

I always have the hardest time keeping up with changing transportation. It seems like I always have several lists and I can never find them when they call over my intercom inquiring about a student! Well hopefully this will solve that problem! It is also handy for subs or people doing coverage gor you.You can write the bus numbers on the little provided tabs!

I hope you can use it! Enjoy!

A little freebie for you! Word Wall/Job Cards

I have been having a great summer and I took a much needed blog break for the month of June. That was a REALLY hard thing to do but it was wonderful to spend time with my family and deescalate from the school year. Now I am recharged and ready to go!

I am now starting to plan my classroom for next year and I am sooooo excited! Pinterest has given me so many wonderful ideas and I can’t wait to share with you some of my ideas for my room! I will probably start working on it next week. YES, you read correctly-I am working on my room a whole month before school begins. It is so necessary in order to make my vision reality! lol Okay I am being dramatic but it does take a lot of time and I moved rooms this year. I have a room with a window this year! YEA!!!!! I am sure you guys know that importance of having a window. It is one of the small joys of life! So I have a lot of organizing to do!

I started working on my job cards and word wall cards. Attach the job cards to a wide ribbon and hang from a wall. I use clothespins for the students names. Feel free to use the free word wall cards  if you have a green/frog theme! Polka dot themes are included below!
